I have eaten here many times over the years either in the restaurant or as take out. The food is fabulous. Tonight I had the Mingo Special and it was magnificent. The menu should state that I invite two additional people to assist me in eating the sandwich which is a scrumptious combination of the Mingo Special and the pork tenderloin.

Tried this for the first time. Very tiny place and packed when I arrived. Tenderloin to go $8 well worth it.

2009 is a long time ago. There are many Tenderloins much better than Goldies these days and that is to be expected but on our most recent visit everything was just okay too. Tenderloin average, sides boring, and soft serve just okay. The straw that broke the camels back for me though is that when we had parked I noticed the smell of diesel fuel. On the way out I noticed that someone had poured it on the ground to kill weeds? In 2019 we are pouring raw fuel on the ground? WTF?

Food was great and the staff was great. Best food I've had in iowa. Will go back. You can tell it's a local staple and I see why.
